Skips & Skip Bags FAQ
Your skip or skip bag can be placed anywhere on your land as long as there is sufficient access space for our vehicle. It can also go on a public road or verge, however, you may need a permit from the relevant Local Authority for this. Larger commercial skips may require additional clearance and protocol. Please contact our team on 01-829-8992 to find out more.
Our 'zero-landfill' promise means that all items in your skip or skip bag will be reused, recycled or repurposed. Please see our Sustainability page for more details.
If you’re filling a skip or skip bag outside private property you may need permission from your Local Authority. Potential reasons for this include if your skip or skip bag is being left on double yellow lines, paid parking spaces, a footpath or a loading bay.
If you require a permit for your skip, or are unsure whether or not you need one, our team are on hand to help. If you have bought a skip bag, please be aware that permits and permissions are the purchaser’s own responsibility. Larger commercial skips may require additional clearance and protocol. Please contact our team on 01-829-8992 to find out more.
For skips and skip bags to be safely placed and/or collected, we will need vehicle access approximately 3m (10ft) in width. A full skip or bag will need 2.5m (8ft) of overhead clearance for lifting. Please make sure the collection site is clear of overhead wires, walls, fences, and trees. Any obstruction caused to lifting is the responsibility of the customer. Please note that we cannot deliver or collect skips over walls. Larger commercial skips may require additional clearance and protocol. Please contact our team on 01-829-8992 to find out more.
Generally speaking, we have very few problems with skip safety. Liability for the skip is with the person that hired the skip during the duration of the hire.
Skips containing light household material can be filled one foot above the level. Skips containing builder’s rubble such as soil, clay, bricks, stone or blocks can only be filled to a level load, this also includes all business skips, sizes 14cyd and above.
The materials accepted depend on the type of skip hired. As a general rule, all skips hold non-hazardous waste including paper products, cardboard, ceramics, household waste, mixed metals, mixed recyclables, pottery and wood - with varied amounts of soil, construction and demolition waste.
Large electrical items and hazardous materials (e.g., toxic waste, liquids, asbestos, chemicals, oils, batteries, florescent tubes, fridges, paints, gas bottles, medical waste or tyres) are not accepted. For more information, please speak with our team on 01-829-8992.
As a standard, skips are kept three days from the date of delivery, however we can arrange for it to be with you longer. Please call our team on 01-829-8992 to organise this.
For commercial clients, we also offer the option for a 24-hour turnaround on collection. Please call our team on 01-829-8992 to find out more.
The cost of the skip includes delivery, disposal and collection.

Panda skip bags are intended for the disposal of ordinary general and garden waste. Items that cannot be put into a skip bag include builders’ waste, soil, rubble and clay, hazardous materials, sharps, medical, chemical or toxic waste (including paints and solvents), asbestos, oils, tyres, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, batteries, fridges, fridge-freezers, food waste, liquids, sludge or animal remains.
For a complete list of what can and cannot be stored in your skip bag, please consult your local authority or EPA website.
Panda skip bags hold up to 1.25 tonnes (1,250 kg) of waste, with other suppliers selling collectable one tonne (1,000 kg) bags. Whichever size you choose, your skip bag has to be a level load, so please do not overfill it.
Panda skip bags are available to households and businesses based in Dublin, Meath, Louth, Kildare, Wicklow and Wexford.
Skip bags are cheaper and more flexible than ordering a traditional metal skip. Where skips are delivered and collected with a three-day window, you can buy your skip bag from Panda (or another local stockist) and store it until it’s ready to use. With no set collection date, you can fill your skip bag in your own time. Just book online or give us a call on 01-773-9997 when it’s ready to collect. As an extra bonus, every collection comes with a free skip bag!
Remember, skip bags are for general and garden waste only. If you have soil, rubber, and other builders’ waste you will need to hire a metal skip.
